06 axle removal issues

Howdy folks while doing the wheel bearing on my 06 hatch long story short previous owner didnt know much and the axle nut was on crooked so it's the drivers side and I've been fighting with it for a few days now and am to the point of dropping the transmission as a last resort, I figured I'd ask and see if any one had any tricks to getting it out axle boot gave and it's just the CV in the transmission

Did you un-stake it? Toyota has a little divot in the nut that gets pushed into a slot in the end of the shaft to keep it from backing out. If you don't push it back up, it will destroy the threads on the way out.

Even if you do it will still damage the threads somewhat when taking it off. I think its only designed to come off a handful of times.
