Is it possible to remove the EPS unit without going to a custom steering shaft?

You can just unplug and remove the electric motor. We did that the first year because the system did not work when we got the old car. Steering effort is very heavy because you are still turning parts in the column, and the shaft itself is very heavy.

I know some people think its sporty to disable the EPS, but its only got to slow you down in Solo. Its also worth noting that a lot of the Prepared and Mod Solo guys are incorporating Toyota EPS into builds. Unless you are prepared to go all the way keep what you have.

Very true Jason.

I unplugged the eps motor once and drove around the block....VERY heavy. I wrote it off at that point.

The new car is almost ready, got the wrap done and the new rear windows in. The Yaris brand manager and TMS wanted to take advantage of the Yaris being a "world car", so they aligned the graphics with the WRC program. Very happy with how it turned out.

That looks really good Jason! This thing looks like a track monster now!

What suspension and wheel/tire setup are you running? Are those RPF1's 15x7 +35 and Hoosier tires 205/50R15 profile? If so, then did you have to do any fender work to use this setup at the current ride height?

What spring rates are you running both front and back? What is the dampening set at?

Looks AWESOME!

Although I am sure they are your sponsor, Monster sponsor is the most annoying. I automatically relate Ken Block to Monster and that guy isn't that great of a driver. Cool video's, but when it comes to competition, he just doesn't match up to those who are seriously good at it.

You may be curious as to how his first race with the new car went.

Monster is not one of my sponsors, they are on the car because Jamie Bestwick is going to guest drive it at a couple of events this year, and they support him.

Took the car out to Buttonwillow Raceway for a shake down, just as quick as the old car only more stable, making it easier to drive at the limit. Had planned to sign up for the track day portion of the event, but the tech crew got me a log book in time for qual so I entered the race.

Started on the pole for the entire group, and took the overall win, first time I have ever done that. Lowered the track record I sat for this configuration in 2013 by 3.5sec (the track has gotten faster since they repaved last year, so this was expected).

Very happy with the car, no hiccups whatsoever.

Congrats.. You think the body style helps a lot with the stability because of the aerodynamics compared to the 2nd gen?

Its due to the longer wheelbase.
