and the yaris

the yaris is a super fun daily driver for what it is, it can easily make the hot hatch category

The MR2 is a blast to drive, but to be honest i wouldn't want it as a daily driver

the TC is ok, and i just dont like the Z

MX5 would be fun, i know a few people who have them and love them

but each car has its ups and downs, its just which one you like the best

However the midengine, torque, light weight car was the best thing when we had our autocross events, it kept up with s2000's, street prepared miatas and cars with twice the hp while having blown shocks... then again its all relevant, I was keeping up with mazdaspeed3's, wrx's and civic si's in my yaris.

If you want to keep the yaris and try to make it a little faster around the corners, there is a handling primer written by Tamago which is pretty complete - best bang for the dollar, get some TRD springs, shocks, rear antisway bar and decent tires and you can have some fun at local events and shake things up in a 108hp fwd :)

hi there i am from hong kong and just bought a mr-s with hardtop.compare to echo.mr-s turning corners faster than echo ,even I install 1.5 way LSD in echo.I have mod a lot in my echo and i will not sell it.driving a mr-s you will very high.

i own both! the mr2 spyder is stock, and that's a little less scary than a stock yaris, but quick lane changes can be...'fun' lol. yeah the spyder is faster than the yaris, but me being a fatass i dont really notice it at all. another thing is i kinda dont like the gearing in my spyder very much. 80mph being around 4000rpm and all...i know...acceleration/sports thing. I prefer my yaris for DD lol. the 30hp difference i truthfully dont really feel. it feels like there's a less hp difference.

According to to that article, a Yaris with only coilovers and sticky tires made 1.05g and beat these cars:

0.96g - Porsche 911 Turbo
0.96 - Noble M12 GTO 3R
1.03g - HASport Acura Integra
1.04g - Works time attack Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
0.92g - Honda Civic Si
0.95g - Nissan Skyline GT-R
0.97g - Nissan 240SX
0.92g - Mazda RX-8

and pretty close to this car
1.08g - Lotus Exige S with Yokohama racing slicks, Ohlins suspension and Chapman's ideals

the problem is that it jumped from .85 from 1.05 with just the tires. That makes me think the tires are doing too much work alone. Means that maybe you could see that flipping thing happen.

I don't know enough about the subject to debate this, but with coilovers dropping the height down low, and the width of the car, I can't hardly imagine it flipping... seems like cars that roll are low grip cars with overly bounce suspension.

it depends on the spring rate, the swaybar changes, the shocks..

if you lower but you don't stiffen your shock valving you're doing no better than stock.
