that's mighty lots of highway miles. Kinda obvious, because he is still on the original brakes.

At school, one guy who lives in Ottawa, and teaches in Montreal. So that does the 400KILOMETERS in a day.

anyways.. highway miles keeps the car in shape ^_^

Someone needs to get a hold of him and find out what brand of oil he uses! Maybe put the Mobil vs. Amsoil vs. Valvoline etc. debate to rest.

I'm impressed with him doing the mileage he's done, but he drives like an idiot! 110mph on a crowded freeway and tailgateing is not cool

Yeah, the speeding thing was a bit much, but I noticed he wasn't really passing cars on his right at a blinding rate-they must have been moving at 90+ themselves. This is an amazing link to see this happen-take that Fit owners (only joking Fitsters)

typical traffic on i-95 in florida moves around 85-90, so doing 110 means you're only 20-25mph closing speed..

so all this talk of "insane, stupid driving" is kinda sensationalist

Likes to ride in the left lane..... grrrr..

Good on him for getting it done so well. The car doesn't sound bad.

I was skeptical about the 300,000 mile mark but at 400 miles per day times 250 times a year is 100,000 miles per year at least. He'd be changing the oil about every other week or so.

He'll also spend about five to six hours a day in the car. He must use it for work.

We have a magic dust that the State puts on the road to prevent high mileage in cars. It's called "Road Salt".

Glad to see that Toyotas and Hondas can get 600,000 miles plus on them. Some day American manufacturers will get the point that people don't necessarily want "planned obsolescence".

I'm glad to see everyone finally believes him.

We had a good size thread on his original 150K post but it's gone from the hack.
At the time he was criticized by a lot of people for making the whole thing up (tampering with the odometer, ect.). I wonder if that's why he left this forum. Too bad cause he would have been our most valuable member.

I've been keeping in touch with him and awaiting this milestone. He used to actually drive more than he does now in his first year with the Yaris. About 8 hours a day at 80 mph working as a medical courier (specimen transport). So yes, this is completely legit to any doubters.

Im confused on how often you should change your oil.

Is it every 6 months, OR 5000. which ever comes first, or is it when u reach 5k miles?

No one has ever explained that concept to me..

cuz what if i dont reach 5k miles for like a year and a half..does that mean i dont change my oil for a year and a half?
