Ok, Finally found this post, was posted march 25th on Yarisclub.net facebook page. Feel free to look it up. Used facebook translator that sucks balls, or Thailand uses a lot of slang on facebook.

BUT from what I can gather, that photo is real. His left arm was in pain but nothing serious. Just bruised up I guess.

Here is another photo of the same guy in the spot while they have some hydrolic tool to spread the frame of the car open. Sorta like the jaws of life...

also another angle of the accident after he was out

So, do you think the air bag would have saved him or not?

I think the Yaris did exactly what it had to do to save his life. I mean, it's almost beautiful how everything crumpled just so and left exactly enough space for him to fit. An airbag wouldn't have helped much in that respect... So I'm going with no.

My air bag also didn't deploy when I hit a ditch and it was explained to me that an airbag can just as easily kill you if it doesn't deploy only when the speed and angle requires it to.

it is very rare that an airbag would kill and adult. the only good reason for one not to deploy unnecessarily is that it would interfere with continuing to maneuver the car as needed. if I can no longer actually be in control of where my car is going I will take the airbag to the face 100% of the time. there are legitimate enough statistics out there that estimate front airbags save 22 people for every one person killed by them....and of those killed, 1/2 were kids who should not have been in the front seat.

on that accident, call me skeptical. he is definitely posing in one pic. it also looks like he is wearing some kind of press pass around his neck.

Don't think so roxy1, the press pass around his neck could also be a lanyard he has to wear to work. I also have one of those that I put on every morning going to work that hold my badge I need to gain access to gates and to clock in.

Also, you can see in the first picture, on the bottom left of the pic, they have the hydrolic arm set into place. In the second picture you can see his right arm cut up and bloody. Also, that steering wheel is pretty far into his stomach.

Just because once picture looks like he is posing, doesn't mean much.. It all depend on the timing of the picture. If he was crying or screaming, and the same picture was taken, It could be argued that he was laughing while posing.

That has to be one of the luckiest MF'ers I've ever seen. I know most Thai's are buddhist, I'll bet this guy did some extra praying that night.

Wonder if it didn't deploy due to the same thing that I and a good amount of others on this forum are suffering from, the faulty wire in our steering wheels that years later, Toyota has finally decided to do a recall and fix.

You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

just the same pic. I don't see anything there that changes my opinion. I still think the picture is staged. I cant imagine such a scene being real and not one single person helping him out of the car.

In the photo that shows the guy's scuffed up bloody arm, what is that around his right wrist?

It looks like some kind of tape or bandage....maybe from a prior event?

If you look closely, seems like something (that tape, bandage) was keeping his arm from getting tan - See how his wrist is more pale than his arm?

I noticed that white skin...also on the top of his hand it looks like a tat or maybe a scab, and that would explain the tape/bandage.

I know some are skeptical of the photo, but I think it's real and he's a lucky guy.
