Engine oil consumption
Hi all,
I own a 2010 Yaris. Recently, the low engine oil pressure light (red) came on, and after a garage check it turned out that there is a pressure differential between 2 engine valves, resulting in increased engine oil consumption. The dealership I bought the car from took the car in, flushed the engine an I ill report back to them after 1000 km. They told me they would help me with the repairs if the oil consumption exceeds the manufacturers' specifications. They claim that this is on the order of 500-600 cc per 1000 km, which seems to me way too much, given that the engine oil capacity is only 3.2-3.4L. I couldn't find this detail (normal oil consumption rate) in the manual, could anyone refer me to this information? Engine model is 1-NR. Thanks! Ron |
