throttle body missing a part
okay so I just bought a 1zz throttle body online and I just received it today. but its missing the part(idk what its called, probably like a coolant hose port). the picture that I attached is not the actual tb that I have but shows two of them. Im missing the short one that is pointing straight up. is this fixable?

You can just bypass it (take the two hoses that connect to the TB and just connect them to each other). The only purpose of the coolant connections to the throttle body are to heat the intake air, to improve fuel economy when the engine is cold.

How can i connect them together? So even though its missing one of the tb coolant hose will there be any gaurantee that it may not function correctly?

Kinda lame that you got a broken(?) part but otherwise no it will not harm anything to bypass. I bypassed mine for a couple of years before finally hooking it back up since I happened to be messing with it.

Yeah actually i bought a 1zz tb, which i thought it was in good condition but arrived in the condition i explained from the first post. Btw How do you connect the two hose together to bypass it? I cant get a good picture of how to do it. Btw is it also normal to have the 1zz tb not close all the way? Theres a very tiny gap.

Yes, the valve should not close all the way. If it did, your engine would stall every time you took your foot off the gas pedal.
The bypass is on the hose itself, not the throttle body--connect the hose ends to each other, not to the TB. |

Our Yaris has been running that way for months. I just used a small scrap of aluminum tubing to couple the two coolant hoses together. |

I didn't connect the two hoses. Even simpler and cleaner I removed one hose and only used one to loop back.
The 1ZZ I found online was rebuilt as new, sand blasted and clear coated. Got it for $68 |
