When should my first tune-up take place?

Hey guys,

I've had my Yaris for 14 months now, it's a 2010 sedan and has 16,000 miles on it. So far, I've had three oil changes done by the dealer, have replaced my wiper blades once, and am replacing my air filter this weekend. Around what mileage should I consider a complete tune-up? I know it's really early in the car's "life," but I'd rather know everything ahead of time, I'm a novice as far as car upkeep.

The tune up consists of new spark plugs, that's it. And although toyota and may others say they are good for 120K miles, mechanics say don't leave them in the head that long or they may never come back out. My logic was if I'm going to take them out to check them I might as well replace them which I just did at 60K miles. They are not cheap plugs(Iridium), but they are superior quality to any other. About $38 for all four and it was the easiest 20 minute job I've done on any car I've owned.

At 30k, my dealer wanted to clean my injectors.

Guess what I told them.

See your owners manual. It will tell you exactly what and when things need to be done.

But in general cars today are not "tuned up" on a regular basis.

Bullshit that the spark plugs may not come out, dishonest asshole mechanics will say
anything to charge you $90 hr shop fee , trust the owner manual , if you do a search
you will see many have gone over 100k before tuneup.
