Well guys, it's been fun

After 8 years and 10 months, my time with the Yaris has come to an end. A few hours ago, my girlfriend's little brother (18 and just starting college) bought it from me! So it's still staying in the family :) I'll get to visit it on occasion and keep tabs on it. I haven't been very active on here the last few years, with the Yaris mostly just driving along with no muss or fuss, but as soon as I sell the parts I've got laying around I'll probably be signing off YW for the last time. It's been a great decade and I've learned a TON from you guys. There have been good times at Import Alliance and a lot of good conversations with people here over the last decade. Happy Yarising, and thanks again!

I've had a 1987 Mercedes 190D Turbo for about a year now that's my daily driver, and bought a 2010 Mercedes E350 a few weeks ago for a highway driver/weekend/fun car. Still have the old Hardbody as well.

The majority of the performance/custom parts went with the car but I'll have a few bits up in the for sale section soon.

Very cool, but you should still stop by from time to time. No reason not to pop in and see what some of us YW stalwarts are doing and vice versa.

That would be pretty amazing haha. I have no idea how long he expects to keep it, but he's loving it so far!

Dude... You went from driving a Yaris to an old Merc?

I don't know how you manage that. I'd never be able to give up my Yaris now. Everything else i drive is so uncomfortable to drive. Not to mention more expensive to maintain, fuel and less reliable.

On the contrary, I'm having a blast driving other cars, although they are not mine. Some more reliable than others.

07 ES350
07 MDX
10 Audi A6
12 Land Rover Evoque
13 Audi A6
16 C450
18 Audi S5

Then there are other cars in-between..
08 Caliber
06 Smart ForTwo CDi
10 Mazda 3
12 Mazda 2
12 Mazda 5
15 mirage CVT.

Currently own a 10 Mazda 5 GT and my 07 Yaris sedan.

There seems to be a bit of a changing of the guard going on. Some old time members hanging up their Yarii while I've seen posts from a new group of folks that are just getting one as a first car, etc.

Definitely noticed this as well. Many members on here who bought new '08 and '09's are now hitting the 10 year mark and are looking for an upgrade. Many younger buyers looking to buy a used car and a reliable 10 year old yaris fits their budget and needs. This is the likely reason for the transition

Pretty much. I make over 3x what I made in 2008, so there's a lot more budget available for cars. I bought the Yaris in 08 because of the reliability, cost, and fuel economy. Now I've got enough cars that it doesn't really matter if one or two of them isn't working lol. The old 190D is insanely comfortable and the 2010 E350 is a lot sportier. The old D21 is just an old D21 but I love that little truck, drove it to work today actually.
