Part number

So what is this part number and how does it work with part replacement. I own a 2007 Yaris sedan and I'm looking to replace the upstream O2 sensor. I got one off AliExpress which I promptly contacted the seller for compatibility. He asked that I check if the part number corresponds.

Does this mean, even for the same model car, the parts could be different based on the number of a particular part. I don't get it. If I bought a part meant for the Yaris, is it not universal?

Hi Spellino, On the website that you bought the O2 sensor on, it probably had a list of the Toyota original equipment part numbers that it corresponded to. ( O2 sensors are usually 10 digits, starting with 89465-XXXXX or 89467-XXXXX . So you will need to find out what the Toyota part number would be for your vehicle. Then check the list. ( Different countries have different emission standards and their are also various engines and trans for different countries. So one switch will not fit all 07 Yaris. Good luck
