It will blink @ 4500 miles since the last time it was reset. It will stay on @ 5000 miles since the last reset.

All I know is...

From my experience, the 4500K blink just means you need an oil change. If your dealership gave you a key tag containing a special code with your keys at purchase, they cover the cost of the 1st visit. They change your oil and top-off all fluids.

Now the question is (assuming I go to the dealer), what's the 2nd one cover and for how much? I'm at 9100K right now and the blinker just came back on yesterday. Checked the oil and it does need changing, but I got a feeling there's more to it this time. Anyone know? Thanks.

the key tag is your key number. They use this to make a key they don't have a key to make a key.

at 10k miles, you need cabin air filter change if you have one. That's it. There's a check up at 20k miles, you might want to check your maintenance schedule.

Thats not the only thing you need at 10K. You also need to change the oil and filter, which is the whole purpose of the light in the US Yaris.

its like going to emergency department at the hospital . The stress of not knowing what's going on with your car in the examination room . Wonder if they stick their finger in the exhaust pipe for yearly exam ?

True, but I was also told this number would be used to cover the cost of my first visit, which it did.

Was wondering when I needed a cabin flter change. Thanks man

Yeah they do, it's meant to check for an enlarged muffler

i supposed that everybody would know it's OIL CHANGE time when the light is up. So i just answered what should be done beside the regular oil change.

New yes (you knew that).....used, wel um ....maybe. But if you check this site and find the stickied repair manual, there is a section there that covers the owners manual (reprint thereof). But you knew that also.

Do what your maintenance manual says to do, NOT what the dealer OR anyone on any forum. BTW, get your filter at an independent auto parts store; they MAY be 1/2 the price of the dealer and its a 3 min job putting it in BUT dealer will charge you a 1/2 hr to install. So unless you're fudging helpless, do the cabin filter yourself. Most Yarii DONT come with one from the fact-whorey.
