Auto transmission pan drop and new filter

I did a drain and fill with toyota w/s fluid at 54,00 miles(2 quarts 20 oz) and a drain and fill at 56,000(2 quarts amsoil and 20 ounce toyota w/s). I dropped the pan and replaced filter at 89,638. Drain plug is 10mm hex. Pan bolts are 10mm and the filter bolts are 10mm. I torqued the filter to 10.74 newton meters( British Haynes Manual said 10. One of the torque wrench settings was 10.74 close enough. Almost forgot filter o ring gssket til I seen it on old filter. Torqued pan to 10.74 newton meters which is 96 inch lbs. Dealer said spec was 70 so I split the difference and backed off to 84 inch lbs. initial fill was 3 quarts. Drove it 5 miles and stick was under the cold reading. I added 12 ounces and it read in between cold and hot. Next day I drove 35 miles and it was just under the lower hot mark. Added 7 ounces and it read right at top hot mark. Total fluid 2 quarts amsoil and 1 quart and 19 ounces toyota w/s. I love amsoil but like to use some toyota fluid in change. Old fluid was deep purple. Pan had gray clutch plate silt in it. Old rubber gssket came off nice. No scraping or cleaning pan or transmission needed. 2007 sedan

[IMG][/IMG]. Note silvery residue from clutch plates. I had to wipe with shop towels to remove after brake clean used. Brake clean got most but you had to follow up with shop towel to get the stubborn stuff that wouldn't dissollve and flow out of pan

I also had to remove bolts( again 10mm) from plastic cowling under to lower it. I needed the room to get front pan bolts out.

thanks. At one time of my life I was scared to work on my car. I try to help people feel more secure about doing their own maintenance.

Yes, I think it would be great if you could re-link the pics. I'd love to see them too. And, it would be very informative for others. I use imgur for my pics now. It allows linking unlike Photobucket that wants to charge - $399.99 a year to link photos. Yeah, right.
