Yaris 2008 does not start

My 2008 1.3, 2ZN-FE motor Yaris, does not start, i have the cooling green light "cool" flashing when I try to start and then the fan start rotating without any reason, the battery seems OK, the alarm system also.
This is the 2nd time this happens to me, the 1st time I had all the light in the dashboard OK but this time the "check" light doesn't appear.
The toyota scanner has not detected anything.
What could be the problem ? the car is new only 30k, good maintenance, any help please, thanks.

How did you determine that the batterery is OK ?
Does the starter even turn the engine over properly or, is it completely "dead'?

I am not sure about the battery, may be I should check it. But if it was the battery why it doesn't make any noise ?, no click, nothing as if the memory card is preventing the motor to start.
The Toyota technicians did not find any trouble under the scanner .. they are now working directly on the memory card ECU, I will go and see them today.

Sometimes when a battery is going bad, there are intermittent problems. I would buy a new battery as insurance. Cheaper than being stranded.

Check the voltage on the battery with a meter, and also have someone try to start the car and see how much the voltage drops when the key is turned to start.

The flashing coolant temp light and fan running indicate that the engine coolant temperature is between 117°C (242.6°F) and 120°C (248°F) (the light comes on solid above that). If your engine is cold when the problem occurs then I would suspect a bad Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor.

CTScott,
That was my first diagnostic : the sensor, but Toyota technicians did not agree, because even the "check" light on the dash board was always off, which was abnormal.

Finally they have started the motor. They found some power wires cut, do not ask me how, I do not know, but after they replaced those cables everything was OK.

Thanks guys for your help, this is the perfect forum I could find for a Yaris owner.

Now I have another "simple" problem, I need to change the gasket under the gear box (the middle one), they found some oil leak, not a big problem but for only 30000 km I do not how this happen my car is still new, may be I am forcing her (I drive 130-140km/h) for long distances (400-800km).

Sometimes gaskets just leak. I don't think your speed or distance of driving have anything to do with that.
