Amsoil eao09 filter with amsoil 0w20 works amazing in the cold weather, now only if the battery worked as well.

Check this: http://www.kemopro.com/productinfo/engine.html I'm considering trying it next OC; even if its just SJ ps: HA, see I didnt mention that, according to Ashland, Mobil-1 5W-30 doesnt even meet the current american petroleum institute standards and causes excessive valvetrain wear on cold starts - I AM getting better Last edited by TheSilkySmooth; 01-23-2009 at 10:30 AM. wow the Amsoil site says under normal wear to go 25,000 miles between OC... I was worried about going the full 5000 with Mobile 1... been changing it at 3000 (like me ol' grandpappy did) since I bought my car. (call me wasteful, call me old fashioned, call me a tool of Mobile 1s marketing department, but I usualy try to err on the side of caution)

I dont know about CHEAP, but Motul E-tech 5W-30 in the GM or Renault citroen spec should do the trick for toyota warranty . I think some Mod shops are gray-marketing it in the US - like LTB motorsports. Probably cost $10/litre shipped to your door. Then there is some redlines and Amsoils - havent tried them (yet!)

Mobil, Bose, Dunkin Doghnuts, Flat screen LCD HDTVs, Bailouts, Toyotas - Americans have quickly become a bunch of ignorant zombies - the lemming effect! Question EVERYTHING! Time for a resurgence of the SKEPTIC philosphy - gee maybe I could start a Skeptic religion and get a tax break... |

For those out there that think Mobil 1 is the best on the market, you need to do your research. Valvoline was running national ad campaigns claiming that there full synthetic oil provided 4x better protection than Mobil 1. Mobil 1 sued and their case was thrown out when Valvoline showed up in court with the independent lab tests showing the results. They also did more testing and found that the current Mobil 1 formulation does not meet the minimum API SM or ILSAC GF-4 specifications either. Seems they have been resting on their laurels and got behind the rest of the industry. I love it. I have the letter right here in front of me.

Just changed my oil today. Amsoil XL 5W-20 extended life sythetic, and a Hastings filter. Can't wait to get out and run about now.
I was so stoked to find these for sale at my local car joint -- I didn't realize he was an Amsoil dealer. I actually went there because I thought he was a WIX dealer. Turned out he wasn't but had Amsoil instead. I love when the universe balances out.
