2007 Yaris will not engage

My girlfriend went to work this morning and left her lights on. She had to get her car jumped when she wanted to leave. The person who jumped the car had to switch the cables since they put them on backwards. The car started but will now not do anything but idle. I got there and tested it out and while running the car would go in reverse and move, I could then put it in drive but it the engine wouldn't rev.

I looked on the web and found this http://www.justanswer.com/toyota/56i...s-warning.html and he suggests checking fuses (although I am unsure which ones)

This is for a mustang but suggests to have the car relearn the idle-https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20111116152448AAk0ZAO

This is for a benz but suggests to disconnect the battery-http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w210-e-class/1629361-after-dead-bettery-asr-light-wont.html

Do you guys have any thoughts?
