Yaris bday....

A day or so ago 9 years ago I bought my Yaris. Still love this car and rides just as well now as the day I drove it off the lot. Only things I regret is not getting the 5 door model and anything but the color black. I also wouldn't mind a manual transmission, but the 4 speed automatic has been flawless, thus far. Love driving this little ultra reliable go-kart car....

Totally agree. "go-kart" is a perfect term to describe the driving characteristics.

Congrats! I'm coming up on 12 years. Can't believe it's been that long.

Getting old is weird.

I have a complicated relationship with mine. It's been in my family since 2007 before i could even drive and i remember going to the Toyota dealer with my parents and looking at it. I drove it all the way back in April 2009 when i was on the insurance for the first time but i didn't own it until January 2011 when i brought it for £3500 with 39,000 miles.

Mine turned 9 years old in Sept. 162,000 miles. Hands down the best vehicle I have ever owned. Synthetic oil changes every 5000 miles. The back seat has only had people in it a total of 3 times. Bill C

11 years old this past December. 162K miles, no major expense beyond normal maintenance. Synthetic lube since first oil change. Carpet in the driver side cockpit is somewhat worn (torn parallel to the front seat cushion). I put 48K on one year during a long commute (90 miles each way) when I was working. Retired almost three years ago, and don't put much more than 1.5K miles per year on it now. My basset hound has been in the back seat more time than any human passenger. Great car; still runs strong. Outside of gasoline, it doesn't burn nor leak any fluids. Wished the GRC model coming out in Europe would appear on these shores, but likely no joy.

I feel like a newcomer.

My Yaris was first registered in March 2012 by "Go Get", a vehicle sharing service - pay a subscription fee, then book a vehicle when you want one and pay a distance based charge. The company then looked after all maintenance and other costs.

I bought it in November 2015 with 60,000 kilometers on the odometer. Now at 114,000 km and only had to pay routine maintenance, registration and insurance. Even with the 2NZ-FE it tows my Hobie Tandem Island (350 kg for boat and trailer) with no worries.

The only reason I would consider selling it would be to buy a new one.
