yeah the diesel is driving better but also cost some more Euros :) and if you are not planning to travel 20-30K a year it's not worthy :)

So now I'm paying 105€/month for driving the Yaris plus 120€ Diesel per month, before I payed nothing for driving plus 210€ fuel per month. The yearly tax for the Diesel is not much higher, 133€ for the Yaris, 94€ for the Corolla. So I have a new car, and I'm not paying much more than I payed before ;) |

in this case yes you are right;) I was just pointing for example at me ;) I make max 10K a year maybe 15K so there is no need for me to buy a diesel it will cost me 4500 Euros more.
Are traveling also across Europe or just in Germany ? |

Yes D4D is a bit better but in Greece there's a difference about 3500 euros , so....1,33 !!! |

When will Toyota wake up and import thie diesel to N America?
I love my little 1.5 litre Yaris but would have gladly paid a premium for the diesel. I drive about 40000 km a year between Winnipeg and Calgary to the west and Thunder Bay to the east. Hell...even my cottage (get there almost every weekend) is 230 km away in Kenora...
the reason I mention this is that if ANY MARKET on the freaking planet needs a diesel its right here where the next town is 200 km away. I get 50 imp mpg on the highway but know the diesel could do better... I am jealous. I would like to hear what RPM the diesel is turning at 100 kph? |

Umm, should be something around 1900 RPM in 6th gear.
In 5th Gear I think it's around 2200RPM, but I'll check that later tomorrow. I really love the power of the small diesel. It's just an easy way of driving and the gearbox is much better than our Audi A3 (also in white of course ;) Next one will be a white Toyota Aygo next year for my mom) Here you can follow my fuel consumption by the way: http://www.spritmonitor.de/de/detailansicht/424969.html Last one with 5,6l/100km was really fast driving, mostly within 5-10km. The consumption on long runs is way better! |

So, I watched the RPM.
I'm between 1800 and 1900 RPM in 6th gear at 100km/h, around 2100RPM in 5th gear and 3000RPM at 4th gear |

Btw., got now 13.000km on it, an ran it to max today.
I reached 205km/h - measured with satnav which is a little more than 4000RPM in 6th gear. More would be possible, but I was scared because the tires are limited to 210km/h. I think, 220km/h would be possible downhill. Sorry - hard to explain, my english is not as good as it should be :D |

I'm driving also an D-4D Yaris, but the 5 gear variant.
My Gas consumption is around 4,7L / 100km in mixed street conditions. I've managed to hit a min. gas consumption of 4,3L / 100km (speed lim. 120km/h) That means driving for over 900km without refueling. So glad i've bought the diesel in 2007. |

Driving between 160km/h and 200km/h is so nice in this car, feels like I'd be the king of the road :P Today I did the 15.000s inspection, everything was fine, and it got new oil in it now ;) |
