As of right now....

Hi everyone, just wanted to ask the board a question. Also just to say it I did do a search before actually posting this.
As of right now, How many actual confirmed turbo kits are in production if any? And by whom?
Also what type of price range are they in?
I just bought a Polar White Yaris for track purposes and looking to see who is doing any serious modifications to these cars. Thank you all for taking the time to read. I would appreciate all the info you could provide.

I can't think of any at the moment, but I tried to bring up the topic of Superchargers and there was a few replies about turbos:

Thanks bud. I appreciate the link. I also ran into this discussion when I did a search. I am trying to develop a database of info for those interested in modifying the induction and exhaust side of the Yaris. Suspension is a given and easy to come by.
My main concern is to get a bit more mid and top end out of the car for the track.
I am thinking of fabbing a simple and cost efficient turbo setup for the car. Enough for the stock engine to utilize the added VE for better all around performance while maintaing fantastic gas mileage.
Any info again is greatly appreciated.

where do you plan on putting the turbo?

low mount? high mount? side mount?

log type manifold, tubular?

I'm thinking about fabbing up something similar but we shall see.

Unless you want a piston in your lap, I'd worry about internals first.

but with the slew of solid echo motors in the US junk yards due to accidents and what not, i don't see any reason why couldn't push the limits of the stock block for a little while.

and build one up in the process, no point in building a motor and finding out that the turbo wont work due to some other issue not involving the motor.

Actually that was the first thing we worked on.
I have a complete fully built short block.
I am working on the head modifications at the end of the month.
Cams will be ready in january. Custom head studs, main studs and I built a girdle for the block. I will post pics at the end of the month.
I always said i would need a good foundation to work with. The engine is spec'd to 9.5:1 compression and will run only 1 bar of boost on race gas. On the street just 8 psi.

On this particular application I may use a log style manifold with the turbine inlet near cylinder number two. I am not certain yet as I want to see how much fitment I will have for a well distributed exhaust. I am working ont he design next weekend. I'll update you if you would like to try something similar.

I bought a few engines at first to go thru or mock up prototypes on an engine dyno. Not sure if that is the way I will go yet.

thats all great but the firewall space is goin to make it like a srt 4 when it comes to working on the turbo and doin anything like that. the end result will be a tight fitting pain in the ass.

Actually I just fixed that issue today. I did some research on my car and found a good way to get it done. I will confirm once I am done tigging a prototype manifold.
