you're looking at a mod that:

1. is hard to filter
2. is hard to tune (especially considering you guys have fragile ECU's)
3. will yield much less than forced induction (without other major head/piston/rod work)

i could have sworn someone posted up on here that it puts down slightly more than a blitz supercharger. still not turbo gains but sill, not that bad. as far as filter, tons of companies make clip on or strap on filters that cover the its unit. they do not cost much.

I contacted Danstoy a long while back about a kit for the Yaris. They said they were looking into it, but straight up didnt give me a good answer if they were gonna do it.

I havnt heard anything sinse.

Number one problem i have found so far, most ITB setups are on a drive by cable setup. Making it easier to control all 4 throttle bodies. Now, with a drive by wire, its all electronic. Thus making it a bit more complicated, I know that some high end street bikes use ITB setups to reach high horsepowers, some of which are drive by wire. So in theory, you would reverse process a set of ITBs for a Bike and adapt it to a Yaris.

As Cali said, once you have the setup. Your still F'd when it comes to management.

I designed a system for an autocrossing MR2 i realize thats the 1.8, but its basically the same... I went with these guys, http://www.extrudabody.com
It was a fairly easy design, gave pretty good gains, of course we had a specially designed exhaust, full motec system, and dual stage fuel injection

ahh the old ITB thread.. i remember this fiasco from scionlife.. lots and lots of talk, no action, and unbelievable "gains" coupled to a staggering price.

forced induction is where it's at if you want your yaris to actually be quick.

Yeap, the ITB's are an amazing concept, but in the real world is just not Cost Effective....

N/A power will always be more expensive than force induction... and you can not take advantage of it on the street. That is unless you drive at the edge of the red line all day long

About the comments regarding reliability... that is just not true! There are many cars that came from the factory with ITB's including Toyotas and were as realiable as any other!

Also about the filtration problems... there are ways around it!! Race cars with ITB's many times will use a full cover and use a regular cone filer at one end... There are also foam filters designed for use on the ITB's.

Yeah, a lot of people will just run the stacks open and exposed... just to be able to show their shiny and expensive set up... but that is a different story.

On a Yaris, a ITB set up will REQUIRE a full stand alone set up and probably cable throttle conversion. No way around it...

And to really take advantage of the ITB's a significant amount of engine work would have to be done... agressive cams, head work.... etc

There are reasons why ITB's exist.

If you want to have a Unique Yaris... what better way???

If you are just in love with the sound of the ITB's

In motor sports, when you need to make the most possible power out of a power plant and by the regulation you are not allowed to use forced induction.

But HP/$$ ratio is not one of the reasons.
