Oil Filter Comparsion tests from AMSOIL includes TOYOTA ( Denso ) 90915-YZZF2 :
Go here for the results , http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...13#Post2816513 ( scroll down for chart ) . Wonder if the AC Delco PF 1233 is comparable to the PF 47 for oil filtration ? Guess I'll have to get a U.O.A. to see the results of using it for last 2 O.C.s of the sedan .

Without further information on the test procedure, I'm not going to offer any unsupported opinions about Amsoil's info. But, I doubt you'll see any change in your UOA. 20 microns is really tiny and it's the bigger pieces that do the real damage. If Amsoil's info is correct, that still means that Toyota's cheap filter is catching over half the 20 micron particles on the first pass. And all of those filters will see improvement as they become loaded with gunk.
Could you make the claim that one oil filter is better than another? Sure. But if the only filter I coud get was the 90915-yzzf2, I wouldn't have a problem using it. It's good enough. But in the interests of full disclosure, I've got an Amsoil filter on mine now. Now that I've only got 5,000 miles left on my extended warranty, I'm going long! |
