Unhappy factory tow hook -tested

long story short, i got stuck in knee-deep snow today on my way to work and some guy with a 4x4 and winch kit pulled me out. in case you ever need to know - the tow hook is in the tool bag in the trunk. you use the lug nut socket bar-thingy(?) to twist the hook into it's proper place. not as easy to screw-in as i hoped, but it was cold and i was blocking traffic! also, make sure you keep a knife or other sharp object to pop the cap off your front bumper. the manual says you can use a standard screw driver, but i managed to scratch my paint(VERY easy to do) popping it off with one. i only could get it screwed-on about halfway, but i was pulled-out fairly easily after that. winter sucks! and no, i didn't take any pictures!

I use one of those supermarket "saver" members keychain card fob things (think really thin credit card plastic) to get that tow hook cap off. I always have one with me, and they don't scratch the paint.
