You are our 'holy grail' when it comes to mileage and longevity for original owners (and even for original engines)!

Currently, how high is 'the summit'...how many miles on your Yaris ?

Thank you! I currently have roughly a measly 543,000 miles on my Yaris. This may sound crazy to the average person out there, but I'm going to turbocharge it in the near future. My Valve Seals have now started to leak when I run thru the RPM's. So, I'm burning oil and have to top it up about every 1000 miles.

You never answered my question as to why you changed your shifter cables... Lol. I'm really interested to know why and if it fixed your problem. Bcuz currently I have a rattling noise from my linkage on my gearbox. But when I pull or push the shifter towards any gear while in neutral (which I'm basically put tension on the shifter cables by doing that), the noise goes away. So, I was thinking that maybe I should change out my cables too. Let me know what your issue was with your cables.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply to my post ! Sorry, I'm not the member who changed his shifter cables . You are quite an inspiration, so members like to hear about your current odometer mileage (...and putting on many fewer miles than you used to doesn't change that curiosity) and what you are currently doing with your Yaris . This has come up on threads since you last posted . Some of us know we can check your maintenance/repairs and mods on your '500,000 miles on my Yaris' thread. Post #1 on that thread shows the mileage interval that you did repairs/major maintenance, and mods, but doesn't hint to a current odometer level (last update to that page - January 2014). I don't think it's crazy that you're going to turbocharge your Yaris at 543,000 + miles . Given your maintenance intervals, etc., I'd imagine there isn't a 500,000 mile plus Toyota anywhere in the States that is in better condition than yours. Definitely update post #1 on your '500,000 miles on my Yaris' thread after you install the turbo setup (and create a thread foe thgat as well if you are so inclined ). I hope the member who changed his shifter cables answers your question.

It was a very odd situation. I went out to drive my car one morning and I could only shift 3-4. The side to side cable had seized up . Mind you this was the first year I had owned the car with roughly 30k on the odo. Not sure what was wrong, or what caused it, but they set me back $287.

Just turned 100,000 on my 2010 HB. Oil & filter changes, air filter and tires have been the only maintenance items. Bill C

I'm at 253k right now... I'm starting to wonder if I should proactively swap the alternator, fuel pump, or water pump? I have a 75 mile each way commute into town and don't want to get stranded. Car drives perfectly though!

Cosmetically my front end has been chipped all to hell by all the construction around Atlanta. I'm planning on having the front end totally repainted and using Xpel on the front. Nothing else has really taken a beating like the front... the damned main road through the city was practically a gravel for a few weeks!?!?!

110,000 miles roughly on my 06 jap made Hatchback. Pretty impressive considering mine has the 3 cylinder engine made for the Aygo in it. I really don't think Toyota designed it for being driven like its stolen every day.

Servicing, tyres, exhaust, water pump, battery and oddly enough my alternator. Its never once let me down, always done whats needed from it until i could get it to a garage. I also have a little noise that sounds like the thrust bearing might be starting to wear. But I'll wait till it gets worse to do the clutch.

I intend to drive it until it collapses into a pile of rust. If the engine blows up i will just stick a used one in.

I wish we got the funky little Aygo in the US. We don't get any of the kewl small cars.

154K on my 09 LB Clown-car. No issues other than normal service. Synthetic oil since first change, and extended drain interval (15K miles) since from 45K miles onward. No oil consumption. The 1NZ-FE is durable, and damn near bulletproof.

Just curious but did you do any used oil analysis? And what brand of oil are you using?

7500 miles in 3.5 months, I'm well on my way to join the club. I'm planning on switching to synthetic after 12,000 miles. I have to say, I love this little car!

Where's the 300k mile club? That would be pretty cool to have. If well maintained, I don't see why these cars couldn't go 350k or more.
