13 Yaris 5dr US installed new speakers but...

Installed JBL component front speakers and tweeters in my car, (well, has a professional do it) and I loved it! They had to run new wires to the speakers from the radio, but assured me that was normal.

Sounded great. Was so happy a week later I had them install the rear JBL speakers. They sound like they are only getting high and mid-level audio. Sounds like they are only getting the same audio my tweeters are getting.

Any idea if that's normal or not? They said the rears were super easy and didn't require changing anything, just used the factory wiring.

Maybe they messed something up, or is my stock radio just the problem?

Does the factory head unit have ports for tweeters? I didn't think it did. Maybe they bridged the tweeters and the rear speakers into one port?

As far as i understand you don't have the lower bass not on the rear speakers?

Do you have the Toyota Touch Audio System? If yes then it seems that lower frequencies are cut off on the rear speaker outputs. I've read something about in the internet.

Next thing could be that the standard headunits only got about 25W rms output power. So perhaps your speaker need more power to get a good sound.

Normaly the two wires for one channel goes to the tweeter(if a two component system is installed by Toyota), on the tweeter is a small capacitor for crossover. From that it goes to mid/bass chassis. So perhaps they used the wrong wires.

i have put a subwoofer with the touch and go radio and its sounds like shit. What they have told me is that with the standard series radio you cant put a car stereo because it just will break the radio or it would sound bad.

You can tap into one of the rear speakers for the sub, its what i did when i had it. Too much bass, even at 200watt rms it was brutal. You need a converter to run mono amp/sub combo with the stock head unti.

I know about hi-lo-adapters but that is the Problem. I've read about the Rear Speakers in Touch and Go and some people wrote that it doesnt have full range in the back. Perhaps thats why for yarissoho90d it sounds Bad.

It's also possible they hooked up one of the speakers reverse polarity. That will cancel the low frequency sound coming from the speakers. If you move it from L to R does the bass improve?

Hello, well yes that is what they told me. Actually i dont know what have they done but i have the front and back speaker working and the sub is under the seat, its an anplificated kenwood sub. So if i disconnect the back speaker will the sub sound nicer?. Or i just buy an oem dynabin radio which has sub-out.
