What car battery do you use?
My car battery is dying and was looking for a replacement, any recommendations? My current battery is a Duralast which was bought nearly 3 years ago. How does the car battery warranty work? Thanks.

I use Costco. When it fails, i just go back to Costco and exchange/return for a new one. Best value for one time buying a battery that will "last" forever.

I buy the cheapest thing out there and they generally last more than seven years. Even my motorcycle batteries. I guess I live where its not to hot or cold and I drive every day the same 6 miles.
Incidently I was in Pep Boys the other day and the cheapest battery was $115 and there were some over $200!

Dépends where you live for a battery to last. Hotter the weather, less longer it will last is a rule of thumb.
I always tend to use the cheapest battery out there.. But I'm still on my original Panasonic battery from 2006... |

I just purchased a Exide Edge AGM battery for my Yaris, I was using the orginal battery since 2007 and last winter it failed me twice on starting up.
I got the Exide Edge for $135CAD, where a generic battery is selling for $99. I figured the extra $36 for another 4 years is a good investment. I plan on adding a subwoofer to my Yaris and the additional battery I used for charging 2 ipads I figure a better battery will last longer. |

I am a big fan of the Napa Legend battery. The 7535 model is a perfect fit.

Optima Group 35 yellowtop for me. I figured I had one in my Vanagon for 11 years before it finally crapped so I can hope for 5-7 with this one.

It really depends where you live. AZ heat will probably kill the optima with 3-4 years still whole it would last 10 years in NY. I usually tend to buy the cheapest one at Canadian Tire store... I'll see what I will do with my Yaris as it is still running on its original battery from 2006. |

So I decided to go with the Costco Battery and when I went in today to buy one the clerk told me it was not available for the 2007 Yaris? I find that hard to believe since the Yaris is a economical car. So I was wondering how did you get one for your Yaris at Costco? Do you have the model number? Thanks
PS I'll probably go with Walmart EverStart. ***Update just got back from Walmart and there batteries are not compatible either; what gives? I'll try DieHard or my Duralast and be done with it. Last edited by MoneyT8; 08-09-2014 at 08:09 PM. |

Same size yes, but terminals reversed.
When mine died while on vacation last year in Moncton NB., I was forced to buy the only thing available on a Sunday out there. For $87 plus tax, I bought a store branded battery from The Battery House, a local outfit. I have no idea what the hell it really is, but it has more CCA and greater reserve than my OEM. Carries same warranty as the best of them so time will tell. So far so good, but it is only a year old.

I've still got the original Toyota battery in mine, I've accidentally killed it twice, charged it back up and still going. Canadian Tire told me it needed to be replaced the second time I killed it and that was 2 years ago.

Just replaced mine a couple day ago with Costco battery. Group Size 35. Great performance rating! Should be more than enough to start the yaris right up.

I use a Walmart Everstart. Works just fine. Picked it up after my original battery died in a Walmart parking lot.

soon
The battery is like 6 years old and starting to swell a little. Going to replace it next month when it cools a little. Going with the Napa, it has good stats.
I would rather be proactive and NOT get stranded. |
