Is this a good deal for a 07 Yaris Hatchback?

Hello everyone,

I have the oppurtunity to purchase a black 2007 Yaris Hatchback with a manual tranny and 89,000 miles clocked from my parents. The majority of the mileage is highway miles from them driving from Clearwater, FL to Atlanta, GA and Knoxville, TN. numerous times throughout the years to see family and friends. I personally know that they are not aggressive drivers and dont do jack rabbit starts nor hard braking. They kept up with the maintenance as far as I know, but I didn't looked at their file that they keep all the service records for it. They modded the vehicle slightly, they had it lowered , put in after market 17 rims and had the Toyota emblems painted black. And they offered this Yaris to me for $ 4,500, because they are retiring up in the mountains of North Carolina in which the roads where they will be driving is pretty rough and a SUV will be more beneficial for them now at their current stage of life's journey.

My whole intention on getting this Yaris is to be my little daily driver. So what are your opinions on this? And I know no threads should be without pics and I will post them once I get this Yaris into my possesion next week.

$4500 is reasonable for one with less than 100K miles on it. Does it have power locks and windows?

Sounds like a no brainer to me. You know the owners and you know how the vehicle was used and maintained. Your parents are COMPLETELY wrong about needing an SUV in the "mountains".

Buy this car before they realize their mistake!

That's a freaking steal. Yarisses with similar mileage and age are advertised for twice that amount on Carmax.

One thing.

Its inevitable the car will need minor work at some point. If you keep it ten years it will be 18 years old!

When things like the brakes, alternator, water pump go out don't be discouraged just have them fixed.

A new one of these cars is better than $15,000....you got your for $4500. Think of that when repairs come due and remember, that new one will need fixing someday too!

If it helps, I paid $7900 back in May 2013 for my 07 hatchback, manual tranny, no power locks or windows, 60k miles. This sounds like a really good deal (or I got completely ripped off). :(
