Air/Fuel Gauges

How do the Auto Meter wideband air/fuel gauges compare to the AEM UEGO air/fuel wideband gauge?

um....it's like porsche vs GM

autometer is a much higher end with much higher tolerances than the AEM counterparts. the LEDs are brighter, last longer, look better...the internals on the gauges are all rust proof, anodized, plated, whatever...whereas the AEM is made with cheaper parts

so you buy your timex, i'll stick with rolex lol.

rofl... I'd actually love that. What do you think is better cali?

I still always hear AEM is the best and for some reason Auto Meter looks the same and basicall is all they do is make gauges.

why are we talking about gauges instead of the part that matters?

IMO Innovate makes one of the best wideband computers on the market..

a gauge is just a gauge... reads 0-5V and responds accordingly.

I have bungs on the downpipe, but it's not a stock exhaust any more.

And yes, if you want to data log and do more fancy stuff, a computer is better than a gauge.

if you know the scale, any 0-5V gauge will do the job.. it could even be an oil pressure gauge.. a gauge is a gauge.. put a different face on it, and you're golden!

(of course you won't do this, just go buy what you want, don't listen to cheap-ol joel)

you have to buy a wideband sensor, the bungs are cheap, you can use a spark plug anti-fouler from the auto parts store..

why are you pinching pennies ?

yes you need a sensor to tell the gauge/computer/whatever what to display.

if the wideband controller outputs 0-5V then yes, any gauge will do.

why are you investing in a wideband?

Innovate.

You can get the sensor and gauge for about the same money as the AEM (less than $200) and it gives you data logging and programming capabilities.
