Crushed exhaust pipe..

Hey all,
So I was coming home early today to get tags on the Yaris. I'm on the bypass, in the center lane, and there lays what looks like a piece of the roller table you see used to move boxes around a factory. There was a nowhere to go as I was pretty much boxed in. Hit the brakes as hard as I can and... WHAM! Got home (short drive) and assessed the damage. No holes or leaking fluids, no new shiny spots under the front of the car, spot a blister on the passengers side front tire and then I head to the back of the car. Right where the main exhaust pipe transitions from the flatish aerofoil shape back to a round shape the pipe is crushed almost flat. I am getting some exhaust flow out the pipe but it isn't much and power is down so... I need suggestions. New pipe? Repair? Aftermarket (is there such a thing?). I appreciate any and all suggestions. Thank you, everyone :)

Can do! Sorry they're blurry... The heat shield you see is covering the the gas tank.

EDIT: Clearer shots...

Kind of what I was thinking.... Just saw what a factory pipe costs! :faint: Last dumb question. Any chance I could damage my motor driving to the muffler shop? Just don't want to hurt anything else...

Check the fuel tank too. That looks like the pipe and shield pushed into it a bit.

Scott... A quick inspection reveled no gasoline leaks( liquid or smells anyways). Is that good enough? Thanks for the suggestion :)

With the tank being plastic, I would still take a peek behind the shield. If it was damaged, it may not be leaking now, but may eventually do so. The tank is pretty tough, so I don't think you will find any damage, but it is worth looking.

10-4! I'll check it when they drop the pipe to fix it. Not going to drive it until I get the pipe fixed this weekend so I'm in the van...

So I know it's an fix is easy but will a new pipe (Looking at a Walker Ultra Direct Fit Converter) do anything for my powertrain warranty? Just curious and covering my butt!

Is the original system SS? That would require TIG welding and I'm not sure I'll find that in this part of the world... I'm not in to the know on these things so I have to ask :)
