Nope, legit car. I've rode in one, and took pics of it:
The kit is a bit over the top, but it is quite fast. |

Its the only compact car you can buy off the lot with a Nitrous kit! Props to Ford for the Kit, but if they were gonna use the Saleen name, why not just do something cool, like give us the Focus RS from Europe...

Off the lot Ford.... common here in the southwhere people like amurakan cars because they are amurakan cars..Ford has been making a rather real effort to mke some decent vehicles, unfortunatly the Focus does not rank among them.

The current Focus RS costs about 47000$ over here, has a 305 HP 5 cylinder engine with turbocharger. Because it has much power and a front wheel drive, they adapted the front axle from the real rally car otherwise the car would not be able to put the power on the streets. |

Maybe the real joke here is its a Saleen in a handicapped parking spot. Wonder if the driver is covering for mored than the normal number of personal inadequacies.

eh make fun of the focus all you want, but it has a fully independent suspension all four corners, and with the nitrous it makes 150hp/150tq according to Ford, did the 1/4 mile in 14.0 stock, bigger brakes . Granted its not the greatest looking car, the chassis is 15 years old now and we never got the C1 focus... I'd still drive a regular one. I have been tempted by an svt 5 door hatch a few times, minus the dated looks and 'what everyone else thinks' factor they aren't "bad" cars.

any of you haters actually driven a focus, just hating cus its an american manufacturer.
the only thing i don't get w/ the saleen (other than the over-the-top body work) is that when you actually hook up the nitrous, you void your powertrain warranty id still rock a focus any day of the week and rockland, i like my aveo better than the base yaris sedan i have for a rental right now, but thats another thread... edit: and for those hating, didnt a fair number of yaris's (including my own) get a recall/fix for a piece of sound deadening that could ignite if in an accident where the seatbelts lock?

edit - thought the 150hp/tq seemed low for the car with nitrous...its 150 hp/tq WITHOUT the nitrous, and 225 hp/250tq with nitrous
