Another perfectly good Yaris bites the dust ...

It’s a 2008 two door hatch auto trans I bought for my son about five years ago with 50,000 miles on it. Currently has 96,000. T-bone just behind the passenger front wheel in a parking lot by chemically impaired woman driver. My son drove the car home but the Passenger door is pretty smashed in and the steering wheel Is cocked to one side so the rack must be toast. I’m guessing the impact was 25 miles an hour. Airbags not deployed.

I have a pic on my tablet but the site won’t resize it and I can’t figure out how to make the tablet do it.

Do you think it’s totaled?

Maybe you could find a recently flood-submerged one and move all the dry parts of yours over to it.

Jeez that sucks. I guess it depends if it was hit hard enough to bend the structure of the car instead of the steering components and the door.

Im thinking the car without the accident is worth about3 or 4 thousand and the repairs pretty much will cost that much...

Unfortunately yarii aren't worth a lot, so yes I would guess it's totaled out.. good news used ncp90's and 131's are cheap!

We got $5600 for the Yaris! It was a Toyota used certified vehicle I paid 10,000 for five years ago. That’s way more than bluebook the car has 96,009 and when I bought it had 53,000. State Farm says they employ a firm that evaluates the value of the totaled car in your area that’s how they got the figure. I’m not complaining!

Since I bought this car for my son, I gave him my 09 Yaris with 49,000 miles on it and bought a 2002 echo for myself with 82,000 miles on it for $3000. I do a picture but this site won’t support my tablets pictures and I can’t figure how to reduce them. I had to have a local shop put a new donut on the exhaust manifold, but other than that the car is remarkably ready to go. I think Toyota had it at one point and fix it all up it has a new Toyota battery, new Toyota oil filter, new tire rod ends and the keys have a red Toyota type dealer tag on the keys. The car was also extensively detailed. I have the plugs out and they’re perfect. The car runs like a watch!

Also I have to tell you it seems much peppier than my old Yaris After all it’s 300 pounds lighter. It has the throttle by Cable instead of throttle by wire of the Yaris and it’s MUCH More responsive to the gas pedal. My opinion they should get rid of that throttle by wire!

That's awesome, glad it worked out for you that way.

Glad it worked out, bronsin. I LOVE those old Echos. Sure would like to see some pics if at all possible.
