To get the NADA price on your car, go here: http://www.nadaguides.com/
Are you really wanting to get rid of your car? NADA says $9350 on trade-in, unless you have power windows/locks and cruise, then a bit higher. But, if you don't, the dealership is willing to give you $9350 +10% for a total of about $10285 for your trade. |

IMO by going through with this you've pretty much shelled-out your hard-earned $10K+ in payments for a car that you're giving up for something that's probably gonna cost you more in final price, gas, insurance, and maintenance, etc.
Keep the Yaris. If I learned anything from dealerships is that their gonna screw you over any way they can. Best to just give them the finger and keep the car as long it remains reliable and cheap to maintain (which I have reason to believe it will long after you paid it off). Why mess-up a good thing?

Yeah.....I think I am better off keeping my car. Though, if I were to actually trade a car in, I would get the same one.

Ask them if they're willing to give you an IS-F for your Yaris.

Somewhere on here there is an identical post from awhile back. Exact same letter was posted.
I'm willing to bet that if you went for it, in 2012 you'd get another letter just like this one. IMO, it's a dealership stunt to move inventory and keep you shelling out your hard earned money. KEEP THE CAR!!

I used to work at a dealer in sales department years ago. You havent been preselected its sent out to lots of people. Its a way to get some certified preowned cars. Take your car dump back on lot and make more money on it. And then get you in another car that they are going to make money on you again. Its win win for them and loose loose for you.

Just a marketing/sales pitch. . .
And an FYI, NADA is THE most conservative of car evaluation tools. It will never give you anything even remotely close to market price, especially if it is trade-in price. LOL. |

I once had an offer similar to yours. Dodge was offering %125 of NADA. There is no free lunch. They wanted $1,500 fee to run their service check. Although there was only 15k miles and the truck was serviced by Dodge they wouldn't wave that fee. A door ding was $500.

Dude, once paid off, you can drive for 'practically free' with the Yaris. I've had mine paid off for a year now, and gas for commuting only costs pocket change $50/month, insurance is $310/year, 2 oil changes comes to about $120/year. And THAT'S IT.
basic annual cost of owning and operating my yaris payment free ~$730! |
