Question simota or stock?

I am scheduled for maintainance on my yaris next week , and i thought instead of getting all of the same original aftermarket stuff what the heck , lets look for high preformance
auto parts .... and i found the simota carbon charger factory made for the yaris as a replacement for my stock air filter but some of my friends told me that the stock toyota air filter would be better than the simota carbon air intake and that the simota had wide pores that could damage my engine with dust and sand..... i also found a K&N air intake but it wasnt for the yaris it was a universal intake one and i saw it installed on a chevy aveo ....
so which one ? good old stock or simota carbon or universal K&N ?

I also found denso iridium spark plugs but i dont know if there effective or not ....... but i didnt find the lk16 i found the vk16 (which is iridium tough not iridium power)
should i search for the lk16 or install the vk16 or stick with the ordinary stuff?

Plugs last a 100k miles before needing to be changed. And Simota is a good product maybe oiling it would prove most effective since it can be run dry or oiled.

Well the yaris comes with iridiums stock so i would think so. The simota has been well accepted, as well as the Fujita, TRD, and others. You've got a lot of options!

first of all im in egypt .... which = alot of sand , so i am concerned about the quality of filters ( i think K&N is better , but the simota is carbon which insulates heat outside and the simota is specifically for the yaris )
ps : yaris in egypt is 1300CC - no iridiums just ordinary ones

Due to the very dusty conditions, perhaps I would stay with the stock air cleaner set up and change the filter more often. If you have bo issues with your gas mileage, stay with the factory recommended spark plugs.

What other mods have you done on your car so far?

I have a Simota CF SRI, and am very happy with it. It does make cleaning a bit more tedious, but the performance/looks/sound are well worth the extra work. I've never oiled the filter myself (doesn't seem to be needed).

As far as the spark plugs, I've read over and over again that the OEM Denso plugs are some of the best out there, so i say just stick with those.

those are all good, I would put in a vote to look at the aFe as well. Since it comes with a box, it would work well in dusty and dirty driving environments. And, I ship to Egypt

You should be OK, as long as the MAF sensor is placed in the same area as the OEM one.

i just installed this today , and am very pleased with it .
it is a AFE intake with a dry filter , but you could also run a oiled filter if prefered.

The guy says the metal pipe might not be necessary , because the engine bay is small and the black plastic tube can do the job
so is he right ? and does the metal pipe have any other use than getting cold air away from the engine?

first, the MAF sensor is that plug-in thing right next to the airbox in the photo above. (post#16).

What metal pipe are you talking about? i'm confused...
