PROX, is your Yaris a manual or auto? What kind of psi do you keep your tires at?

Odd that the dates are the same..So must have been on a trip..I have always gotten 39-39.5 out of mine. This year my MPG has improved I am now avg 41.5 mpg.I am on track with this tank to get 45 mpg..My driving is 60/40 with 60 being HWY. I drive 65 mph and pay close attention to starts and stops..My psi is 40 lbs.I believe on a trip with all HWY I can easily get 45+ mpg..Mine is a 08 HB with auto..No weight has been shed. The key is consistency.

I use fuelly.com I can get 42+ if I keep the mph @ or <60.....but >60....mpg goes to 36'ish.

Automatic tranny and I keep the tires at 51psi per manufacturer max specs (less resistance in rolling)

Geez, sorry for the multiple posts. Don't know what happened there.
My 2010 Yaris 3 door auto hb is getting around 35-37 thus far this summer, and I have near 4,000 miles on the car. When I got the car in December, it was getting high 20s-low 30s. I try to keep my psi around 42. I'm not getting the mileage you guys are getting, for some reason. Just got my first 6 month oil change, so we'll see if my mileage gets a bump with this tank. My highest FE number thus far was 37.44mpg, so we'll see what happens.....

I've owned a lot of Toyotas it takes them about 7000-9000 miles to get broke in and start getting good fuel mileage. Also jackrabbit starts will affect fuel mileage.I run the same brand gas from the same place using the same pump..I fuel till it clicks and the add .300 more overtime..I change oil every 5000 with standard oil and OE filter.Driving habits are the key..I run my air all the time..My drive is 42 miles each way with mountains to cross..

Jazz,

What is your driving like? Do you do a lot of city or short trips?

@ RETRO, It was an almost 4000 mile road trip (CO-East Coast). Mine is 08 Automatic HB. It is very easy to get carried away as this thing literally flies, I remember getting bored and racing a couple of Lexus and Chrysler 300's and all it takes is a light pressure on the pedal, reaches 90-100 MPH in a blink (no mods), but it all cost me around 33 MPG all highway. the 45.1 MPG was reached doing 55MPH and getting honked at a lot around Nashvile :D
