heater not working water coolant level drops

The heater is not reaching full temperature and there is a gurgling noise coming from it. Water coolant level drops but only needs approx 1 pint to top up. I have had radiator replaced and system drained and bled to refill. I just did a long journey and the car didn't overheat. Can't see any obvious leaks. Any ideas please?

sounds to me air traped in the heater core.

Suggestion:
-drive up on a couple ramps or a steep incline.
-take off radiator cap
-turn car on, heater on high
-let run for a while (5-15mins)
-watch coolant see if it drop or air bubbles form.

I would invest in one of these:

They help coolant refills so much and easy to watch the air bubble escape.

Many thanks Derrick, I have tried this and some bubbles came out but I probably need a steeper gradient. It sounds like it could be the problem - pity I just replaced the radiator!

Level dropping is normal after you replaced the radiator.. just wait and keep adding coolant

Yea, no prob. Take Tolmach in consideration also. Just keep driving it around with the heater on high and the bubbles will eventually makes thier way to the radiator.
