question to the 3 door owners
i just thought to myself, i more then likely wont have more then 2 people in the car, how many of you 3 door owners ride with the seats folded down?
I know you'd get alot more cargo space, but do you feel its more practical? or do any of you 3 door owners actually use your back seats? reason i ask is because i thought to myself, instead of putting my pitbull in the passenger seat and he has already dirtied the grey part of the seat, maybe i can just have him jump into the back instead plus i have a ton of cargo room.

A week after I picked mine up, took the wife on a 5 day camping trip. The back seat folded down and I fit a 10-man tent and enough equipment and food to last us the week, and I still had full view out of the rear window. But I normally drive with the back seat up. Most of the time it's just me, or me & wife, but a couple of occasions I've had three or four people in the car. It's easier just to leave it up and put it down when we need to.

I personally like having mine up. mainly to look cleaner. also so I dont lose that hatch cover between the back seat and hatch door. I like the way it looks

I use my 2nd gen for my business and maybe 1 day every two months the seat goes up. When it is up most are surprised as they thought my yaris was a two seater. Only reason the seat goes up is for my girlfriends 5 year old niece and her booster seat.

Usually keep mine up also. Groceries don't roll all over the car.

even with a 5-door I had the rear seats down most of the time (when they were ever actually in the car)

If I didn't have the bench seat (which doesn't fold down flat), I'd still most likely keep them up as I do now. I like the security of having them that way, keeps things in place in the hatch and away from prying eyes...
Cheers! M2

I bought a hatch so I could put my German Shepherd dog in the back. My seats have been down since I bought it.
