I'd love to see the dyno graph. How bad is the lag vs the smaller turbo?

The lag is not as bad as a previous turbo I once had (Turbonetics t3/4). I was more concerned with transient lag, falling out of boost when shifting . Im actually impressed with the response. I must say, car is scary fast now. Im not expecting a 10sec pass, but low to mid 11's at 125mph+ should be realistic

here in greece we have at least 2 b16 hondas that have 500+whp and over 289 ft lb at the wheels (stock sleeves) and still holding strong after 1 year . and toyota's blocks have stronger sleeves than the hondas. i think it will take the beating

keep pushing the limits justin!

I would guess that he tickled the chin of 400, I only make that assumption because Garm is at 357 @ 24psi.

Yeah he's gotta be at 400 with 34 psi. It'll take 400 to get the Yaris into mid or low 11's. Can't wait to hear about it.

Couldn't find a photo of previous turbo on pump gas, it was 295whp and 287lbs torque ... peak torque was at 4800 rpm. My 11.95 was on race gas, 318whp w previous turbo.
387432_10200204551089209_1308642482_n.jpg For Nasa this year, it is mandatory to add 10% to that number. They verify car classification measuring whp via Dyno Jet. Hopefully I remain a "B" class car, haha. This is at about 30psi, the 34psi pull was no bueno!

That is an awesome number.

Is driving it as peaky as it looks from the dyno? Or was it just not full throttle until it starts to rise? The curve reminds me of some earlier single turbo conversions from the early 90's or so where that one big punch almost knocked the car sideways.

Although upon glance the curve is crazy, factory torque is already exceeded just past 3000rpm...... beyond that, it is clinched butt cheeks.
The power is nice and progressive, easier to modulate than previous turbo which ''hit harder''. Honestly though, Im never going to run that boost setting unless Im at the dragstrip or a dyno event. There is absolutely no traction. Im leaving it on wastegate boost ( 14-16psi) at about 250whp for autocross and everything else.

I also converted to open dump, the car sounds vicious when it hits boost now.

My street setting is 14psi also, very usable. I have my second map on a toggle switch in front of me, can switch on the fly.

How do you switch between maps, and do you have two or more than two?

It's all one map, tuned up to 30psi. I have a trueboost boost controller, can change preset boost settings in seconds.

After waiting 5+ years to actually not only see Garm's LB, but get to ride in it seeing him use the toggle was pretty enlightening on how easy that setup can be used. Really put things into perspective on what to expect once I get into the HP realm that you (Blown and Garm) are sitting in. From Cranky's estimates I will need to be at roughly 400hp myself to get to my loftiest goal if I can ever get the damned finances straight enough to do so!
