Belt noise after MI pulley?

I've got some belt noise after doing the MI pulley. Not squeal, just an audible (windows down sitting in car) sound of the belt spinning around. Is this just a quality of the lighter pulley or should I have my belt checked again? I've never done a lightweight crank pulley before and wanted to make sure this wasn't normal before I started poking around.

I would check your belt tension but it shouldn't make more audible noise.

That raises a question... is there any such thing as inaudible noise?

Audible just means that it can be heard by human ears, so yes there are inaudible noises, and dogs can hear sounds we can not.

apparently i have a some hearing difficult in my right ear, typically that is the side were my wife tends to be when she is asking me something and i get to look over at her while she gives me the stare of death while i have not the slightest clue as to what she said.

Are there any cracks in the belt? Time to replace?

This thread went from drive belt noise to ignoring complaining women lol

My thought is that it could possibly be the anodized surface on which the belt runs which is relatively slippery compared to a raw aluminium surface. If it was me, I'd remove it, mask it off with some tape and beadblast just the belt grooves alone, although lately my solution to everything has been to blast it.

It's all speculation until an actual audio is made available. I don't believe captain is experiencing any noises associated with slippage, as those are very easily identifiable. Also, belt age should not be an issue since the car is only a 2010.

My thoughts, again speculation, is harmonic. The sound resonating from the MI pulley differs from OEM due to its aluminum vs cast construction. He is probably hearing a different 'whirring' sound.

Yeah, it's not slippage for sure. Just a different (but noticeably louder) sound at idle. I've got a Zoom H2 and will record and post it up later today.

I've attached the wav file inside of a zip file.

It's just a high-pitched sound as the belt revolves, kinda annoying.

That really sounds like a loose belt to me.
