Looking For Used Yaris

Hi,

This is my first post here, I'm looking for a used Yaris for commuting 80 miles a day, I can drive stick, I'm partial to the sedan but the hatchback will do as well. I'm probably looking at an earlier model, maybe a 2008, of course price is the biggest driving factor. Can you please advise best places to look for good deals, what to keep my eyes open for, etc. Thanks.

Are you planning to pay cash outright for it or looking to finance. If you are paying cash craigslist is the best place to find the best deal. You just have to be weary and make sure you sign up for a carfax 1 month account. And then even so I would suggest having a local automotive shop doing a pre-purchase inspection if you do find a potential car.

If you plan to finance check with your local credit union what you qualify for and get a approval letter and bring it with you to some of your local toyota dealers its a good bargaining chip and will keep them from running your credit over and over which can negatively effect it while you are shopping.

My girlfriend just bought a certified preowned 2010 yaris with only 20k miles on it. Fully loaded 4 door and walked out with a 200 a month payment and put zero down with 3.7 percent interest.

requires a credit score above 700 to get that good of a rate. not everyone is that awesome.

but yea, check with your bank first then check with your insurance company( yes most of them do car loans) before doing what ever the car dealer wants to do, you can get a decent deal with a little shopping around.

Check www.autotrader.com and don't be affraid to look several hundred miles from your home, usually the best deals that way. Also most cars on there already have CarFax report with the add, good luck and happy hunting!

My dad is selling his 06 Blazing Blue Liftback. He is leaving the county and sadly will not be taking the car. I hate that I cant buy it off him and keep it in the family.

~70k miles
manual
always serviced on time at Toyota
never been in an accident

I can send you pics if you'd like. The one stipulation is, he needs to use the car until he leaves which is July. So depending on your timeframe that may or may not work for you.

The car is located in Tampa FL.
