Cabin Air Filter

My dealer said my 2010 Yaris hatch will not accept a Toyota Cabin Air Filter. Is this true?

Yeah, not true.
Just get one and install it yourself, it's stupid simple to do.

BTW, air flow goes from bottom to top.

Buy one from AutoZone or some other store than the dealer. Some guys here like the Febreeze one at Wal-mart. Takes 3 minutes to install, there is a DIY .. ahh listed on the above post.

W.......T.........F.........

What the hell kind of dealer are you going to? A Toyota Cabin Filter won't fit in a Toyota???? Wowzers.....

Obviously they have no idea what they are talking about. Toyota makes a filter for the cabin air, and you can find OEM ones online for less that 20 bucks.

Best I found was like 16 bucks. I stay away from aftermarket since the glorious invention of the internet and the ability to "always find a better price"

I would get a filter, then go back to the dealer and show them how stupid they are. I'd even go forward with letting Toyota corporate know. I'm tired of idiot dealerships being lazy and lying to clients.

Both the Toyota filter and the FRAM Fresh Breeze filter require you to 'bend' the filter a little to slide it into place properly (the OEM one less so)......but the personnel at a Toyota dealership should know that. I agree with Astroman, it's laziness on the part of the dealership. Yaris not much of a profit center for that dealership, so they don't bother to learn what they should know?

You would think they would want to make a sale...unreal. Customer service really sucks in this country.
I have free oil changes, tire rotations and inspections for 2 years... every 6 months or 5,000 miles which ever comes first. I will see how the experience is, makes me scared to take it back to the place. Buying experience was awesome, so was the price, but these dealership horror stories that you read here really make you wonder, WTF
