Just a heads-up, I was just looking around japanparts.com and notice they list a new muffler for the NCP91, the RS☆R EXMAG GT SPORT for a hair under US$400. Interesting!

Pics? I got about that much from taxes and am willing to spend it on an exhaust system.

Sure it's good stuff, and I don't think anyone had mentioned it in this forum, which is why I brought it up

ahhaha tres drole

Yeah I really feel bad for sedan owners, there really isn't much out there, I guess the Belta is considered a really crappy-ass car in Japan so they don't make much for it.

At least I see some US-based companies starting to make stuff, so patience!

RSR stuff is hot! I would love to see some pics of this thing on a Yaris with some sound clips

Sure it's a great quality exhaust but that design is a surefire way to be farting up and down the block...annoying the hell outta everyone. Keep to a full muffler design and even then, how good can a 1.5 really sound? I've heard a clip of the TRD and it sounded about as aggressive as this car should sound.

i like the look of my tanabe exhaust better. and i highly doubt you'd have that farting sound like civics and integs due to the fact that rs r exhausts tend to have a low rumble that sounds quite nice actually.

Ive had rsr in the past and it did not sound bad or droney on my hondas or nissans.

RS*R EX Mag GTII is generally pretty quiet on the 1NZ-FE. And yes, I have heard one

My buddy used to have an RS-R muffler on his prelude and it sounded real nice. Had a nice low rumble too it, not annoying like alot of the aftermarket mufflers out there.

considering the fact that you are only replacing the rear section...it cannot get too loud.

ho ho ho wanna hear my HKS one? It sounds good, but it is too loud

well I guess loud is subjective, loud to me was my j's racing 60rr header back titanium exhaust on my itr...i've now got something much more refined for driving, a fujitsubo power getter.

What are you talking about? The rear muffler IS what makes the exhaust loud. :iono: Sure a catless test pipe/header combo would be louder, but rest assured, a rear rice pipe will fart it's way down the block with the best of the ricers. I can't stand those designs....even on a Supra that can support the sound, they look/sound like hell. Aftermarket BMW exhaust systems (Stromung, AA, Borla, Eisenmann), now THAT'S style.

the exhaust sound is the combination of everything and you are still replacing a muffler with a muffler, once again loud is subjective. we are obviously way different in thought though. i can't stand the term ricer put on someone who has a loud high pitched exhaust, a ricer is someone who values looks over performance but wants to keep on the idea that the performance is still there. in my stance i value performance over all and if a high pitched horrible sounding exhaust nets me the most gains then i'll take that anyday. calling rsr a rice pipe is a slap to their face, they've been building competition race vehicles for a very long time and have been supplying excellent suspension and exhaust tuning parts for years. loud=greater exhaust velocity, some people actually want their exhaust systems to be as efficient as possible.

I agree with both of you, if you want the absolute best power gain from an exhaust, that would mean noise. That's really fine for a track car, but if it's a daily driver, it will get old fast and piss off other drivers and your neighbors. In that case a compromise between noise and flow should be the goal.

But, there are also "ricer" exhausts which are basically designed to make noise, to give the impression of more power than it really provides. Mind you I don't think any proper equipment manufacturer like HKS, RS-R, Fujitsubo, etc fall in this category, I mean more like bargain basement exhausts you might find on ebay and on the back of most Civics ()

Anyway let's leave it at that and not turn this thread into another bashfest
