Snow White (Pic Heavy)

Since I don't post much on any forums now days, I figured I'd pop back in here again and show you guys what replaced "Vios." She was replaced with "Snow White," a 2014 Scion FR-S Monogram.

Day I got her after waiting over a month for my order:

Was rather pissed off that it came to us with 12 miles (a little under since it gets driven 2 miles during the pre-delivery inspection process).

First mod was take any usable LEDs from Vios and use them in Snow White, so dome light and rear license plate lights.

First full detail after about a week of getting her, and rebadged with genuine Toyota GT86 emblems

https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...66&oe=5A89F5DE

Got full 3M window tint (Color Stable in the rear three, and Crystalline front sides)
https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...15&oe=5AC6F513

Put in a K&N drop in filter (makes more power, unlike a full intake replacement that actually loses power)
https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...d4&oe=5A95F121

Installed a Berk Technology track pipe (muffler delete)

Friend's FR-S was stolen and recovered, so I decided to help him out by buying his rear roof spoiler (only replica piece on Snow White).

Since the OEM reverse light are garbage, decided to install some 921 LEDs from The Retrofit Source.

OEM for comparison:

Installed Tein Flex-Z coilovers, and limited edition (hyper silver) WedsSports TC105N with Gruppe-S center caps. 17x9, ET35, 245/40/17 tires.

Installed genuine Toyota 86 clear side markers with VLEDs HVA 194 bulbs.

https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...03&oe=5A9CE2A3

OEM amber side markers and bulbs for comparison (yes barely looks on compared to the VLED 194 bulbs):

Lovely car. So purty

Other misc. mods:

Toyota backing to my smart key to get rid of the Scion name.
*edit, picture no longer shows, and I can't find the pic anymore.

Replaced the factory Osram HID bulbs with Osram CBI HID bulbs for slightly cooler Kelvin.
*sorry, will have to click on my IG link*

Stopped using OEM cabin filters, and replaced with Blitz hybrid cabin filter:

Open Flash Tablet stage 1 tune to better utilize California's crappy 91 octane gas, and to help reduce the infamous FA20 torque dip.

Harbor Freight tow strap. I got high centered in our gravel storage lot at work. Had to get my manager to pull me out with his 4Runner.

And for those wondering if I actually tried an after market intake, I tried this Injen SRI for a week. I couldn't stand the horrible throttle response and heat soaking (I actually had the entire pipe wrapped in heat reflective tape (left the MAF sensor area wrapped when I sold it).

LOVE it!

BTW, is "snow white" a solid white paint or a sparkly white?

TerenceCruz 08-21-2016 03:28 PM

Well done Laz, I love the tasteful yet subtle mods. Keep it up!

Thanks. Thought about going hellaflush, but 37 is crap and I already scoop up gravel into the engine bay at this height. Haha. Figured to go with a track look instead. Haha

Definitely not mad at you for not going the hellaflush route, I'll always love a clean track look! My next car will definitely at a similar height with some nice fitting wheels. Unless, I end up going with air ride, then I'll be going all out ;)

I'm actually happy I didn't go the Hellaflush route. If I had stretched tires, I'm sure the wheel lips would be all scuffed up. If you refer back to the clear side marker pic, you can see how much the tires dig into the gravel by just driving through everyday.

Also, another pic of when I got high centered (I removed the gravel and dirt that went over the rim/lip/barrel before I took the pic)

They definitely would be unless you have stiff enough springs. But yeah man, I hear you, this look is perfect as a daily driver.

Not necessarily. The tires just dig into the gravel, so suspension stiffness doesn't come into play. My spring rates are on the light(er) side at 6kg square. This really neutralized my car's handling since OEM, the rear is stiffer. Which is fine, because I can take on ramps quickly and have a neutral, to slight understeer feel. However, since I lowered the car this much, my center of gravity actually became higher, so it's an odd sensation of having less body roll with a higher center of gravity.

Not possible.
