Woofer Mounting question
A long time ago I had a nice JL bandpass box and the box got thrown away years ago but for some reason I kept the clear faceplate from it...
I would like to incorporate the face plate into my setup to protect my woofer ..but i fear that i might inhibit air flow on the front.. here is what i am thinking... I was thinking of making some stand offs for the plexi front so that it leaves room for the woofer thenleaving a good 2" channel all the way around the plate then putting another sheet of MDF to be flush with the plexi here is a pic of the front.. so the plate is about 3/4" thick and i was thinking of making stand offs to jack it up 3/4" as well so my woofer will have well over 1" for throw.. all that to ask... IF i do this will i restrict air flow too much on the outside of the sub? or should i just leave it the way it is? It would be nice to add for some added protection and pizzaz thanks!
