Any1 with Yaris Sedan and babies?
Hi every1
My wife and I are looking at 'upgrading' our old car into something newer to anticipate for a baby in the future. I have narrowed down the choice to a 2007 yaris Sedan and Lancer CH Sedan (My06) ~ A$17K (1.5litre vs 2.4litre) I read most of the reviews about the Yaris Sedan and it has been positive. I will like to get thoughts from owners of Yaris Sedan who use it as a 'Family car - baby seats' - as in ample space in rear seats, boot space if possible. Lancer definitely has a lot more space - warranty is better but I'm not too keen on fuel consumption. The centre console will prob take a bit of getting used to. This new family car is really limited to city driving. Kind regards boosta (South Australia) |

All i can say is the lancer has a much much higher cost of maintinance than the yaris. Which is absolutely zero maint till 100k.
The yaris sedan has a surprisingly amount of rear seat room. Seemingly more room than most normal sized sedans. And this is comming from a subcompact car. Whenever i have passangers in the rear they always comment on how comfortable it is and the legroom. |

The lancer is a nice car, but its not as practical to own like the yaris.
Other benefites: #1 You can have more shopping money with the fuel savings. #2 Interior space is huge compare to other sedans #3 Based on my exp, toyota cars are fas more reliable (old lancer has lousy underchassis) Stay with the yaris if its purely for city driving :) |

i have an Aveo sedan that we're planning on using w/ the baby (its due march 4)
trunk should have plenty of space in either car for strollers and toys and whatnot.... especially if the car is going to be city-only id lean yaris....itll have much better economy....
