Micro Image forums, online store and shop are now closed. It was a great eight year run, but it was time to focus on other things. I'm still selling parts on eBay under micro*image seller ID and customers can still make requests for anything specific.

my previous laptop (Acer Ferrari 4500) had a CF lid, very sexy... though overall I doubt it did much to save weight

Bullet-proof vests are made from kevlar, so it's halfway to being carbon fiber.

hehe...the only thing is this is an actual carbon fiber vest it acts as insulation for cold weather.....

That was in kg's. But that translates to ~6lbs, which is damn light. Oh yeah, no doubt when I have kids, they'll be getting CF car seats...you know, they have to be in a sturdy (and nice-looking) car seats. My gf already agreed to having a (hidden) roll cage in all of our cars in the future. It's all about safety.
