Can someone please recommend a solid armrest? In the past I bought the oem one but felt it was cheap and flimsy.. anyone have this one from ebay? http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewi...id=80511160712. I already searched but didn't get anything definative

That looks exactly like the one I have. I bought mine second hand, but I believe it originally came from microimage.
http://shop.microimageonline.com/Lif...terConsole.htm It is very short and unless you have very long legs, dosen't function very well as an arm rest. I'm 5'7" and with my seating position, my elbow is sort of able to rest on the very front of it. Works well as extra storage, and is secure in it's mounting. Rear cupholder is beyond useless.

I got mine from microimage, too. Same thing. Very easy install.
The thin wrap material on top does wear away quick on the front corner. I got chewbacca arms. Seems more sturdy than the oem optional item. |

Mine is also from microimage and looks like that (although has red stitching).
Fit is nice, and it looks good in the car. As mentioned it's pretty far back (I'm 6'0") so I don't get to use it as an armrest at all. It's just yet another storage spot (which is still nice, but I was more interested in an armrest). The material on top is pretty thin and will cut if touched with anything hard; eg. a seatbelt. Cheers. |

It's very nice and matches my new leather interior perfectly. Sits real low, so it's not really useful as a real armrest.
The OEM one is nice and high and pretty strong too. I used mine for four years and I'm 6ft 200+ and was unable to break it. If you want a serious yet funny looking armrest, get the OEM.

Auxmike that is the exact one I was looking at, seems awesome at 39 shipped...so you would recommend it? I am 6'4 and weigh 225 all my height is in the legs so a low height is probably best

Has anybody found an armrest yet that can be installed that actually serves as a functional armrest? I like to drive with my right elbow resting on an armrest. From all of the discusion here on YW, it seems like none of the aftermarket ones serve as functional armrests.
