Anybody wish they had the interior from the opposite body style?

In other words, are the sedan owners jealous of the liftback's interior with it's 3 glove boxes and other numerous added storage areas? Or do the liftback owners wish for the sedans?

Personally, I wish the sedan had all the added compartments and I wonder why Toyota decided to go with these two separate designs.

Differences also include the climate control stack as well as the whole door panel design.

I do appreciate the sedan's armrest though! Also, the cloth is a better design in the sedan.

I have to say I prefer my liftback. Having driven both and being tall, the liftback has much more headroom.

though they share the same platform and basic design philosophies, the sedan and lb were apparently designed by two totally different teams in completely different places (LB in Europe, Sedan in Japan), which I suppose would account for the differences.

And yet they share a very similar design with many shared parts. So I wonder how the process went. People say the center gauges were a cost cutting measure by Toyota and yet Toyota unnecessarily made two different interiors which cost a lot more than putting gauges behind the wheel.

The whole thing just seems odd.

Oh yeah, forgot that one. Another oddity since they are the same seats.

The center gauges did start with the previous model yaris (aka echo), and is present in other "cheap" Toyota cars in Japan and elsewhere, I believe

The only thing I wish mine had was the sedan's little LCD display above the knob cluster. That thing is sweet!

Saw a Euro LB pic around here somewhere that had this display in place of the fan speed knob, but since this is the States we don't get nice things like that.

Other than that, the LB is perfect IMO

i would love to have the cubby above the steering wheel that the lb has in my sedan. That space is soo empty.

I prefer my ac knobs side by side though.

Ahhhhcck...Again with reminder of my want for all the storage. lol

Well the gauge pods, you have to change it from left to right with each differing country. The Hvac...can stay the same with every LB or Sedan. Simple as that.

Actually, most US models have the black base head unit (shown below) in both the sedan and LB. The first pic I posted is the unit that comes with the power package equipped model.

I imagine you have this or the silver version of this.
