Angry Credit Card Fraud - FYI

There's a new rash of fraudulent charges being made. I contacted my credit card company about the charges below and the guy in the fraud department stated that half of their calls, all day long, are related to these charges.

07/13/2009 Sale NETWORKA ENDACOM 00 OF 00(Services and Merchandise) $9.95

07/08/2009 Sale gglprofit(Services and Merchandise) $59.95

07/06/2009 Sale WWW FEDGRANTUSA COM(Dining and Entertainment) $7.95

Hello Havoc,

While it's nice that you want to warn people you have not provided enough information for it to be of much help. Please provide the card type (Mastercard, Visa, etc.), issuer (Citibank, Chase, etc.) and any information the issuer provided to you about the nature of the breach.

I have MC, but I'll check my statement to make sure. Thanks for the headsup.

Happened to me...but months ago...

I have a checking account at my local bank(community bank) and I have a debit(visa) card. I got my bank statements in the mail and saw some charges that my husband and I werent aware of. There was one that just said GMP for $39.95 on april 14th and there was a phone number for the company. We called it and we told the lady that we had no idea what the company was and hadnt purchased anything from them.she said "it's an account with us by Gary Terell. do you not know a gary terell?" i told her idk who that is, i want whatever this account is cancelled and i want my $39.95 back. There was one from WWWMYGRANTSITENET00 for $7.95 on march 20th and $7.95 on april 21st. There was one from NETWORKAGENDA.COM for $9.95 on march 26th and $9.95 on april 27th. I went to my bank and had to fill out a bunch of claim paper work. I had to cancel my debit card, order and wait for a new one to come. It was a pain, but I did get my money back. It hasnt happened again...

I got hit about a year ago for an exact charge of 259.49 when I was on vacation...I contacted regions bank and they handled it all...

The charge was made from a company called United Medical out of Reno, NV

The bank contacted this "company" and report charges as fraud, the money was returned....

Oh man .. I just got a Visa Debit from Bank of America for the business and if it's with Visa, then I'm worried.

The bank that I've got my credit card through sent me a letter earlier this year stating that my account info was amongst a huge group that had been on a computer that was stolen from their offices and that they were sending me a new card. I was quite pissed that they were the ones who lost it but I received the replacement card a couple days afterwards so it wasn't too big of a problem
