My ghetto exterior thermometer
I got tired of hearing my girlfriend complain that the Yaris did not have one of those outdoor digital thermometers like more expensive cars so I rigged up my own ghetto version
I used a Taylor wireless indoor/outdoor digital thermometer. The outdoor sensing unit I velcro'd to the fuse box cover. ![]() I then ran the sensor wire to the bottom of the grill. ![]() Voila! The outdoor sensing unit sends air temp every 53 seconds so you have to drive for at least 2 minutes to get an accurate reading. When you stop at a long light, the temperature could creep up due to being close to the radiator but when you start moving, the correct air temperature will eventually display on the interior unit. You can mount the display unit anywhere. I happened to hook it on to my Bluetooth clip.
