anyone want to split this with me?

I stumbled across this today on craigslist.. some person spammed it ..but it looks interesting enough but not quite worth $50 to the chance that its useless lol

http://www.ambigrid.com/?hop=taraff1

supposedly this contains plans to build your own solar panels and solar hot water systems with about $100 of materials.. I m curious but dont really want to spend $50 on it. I'dbe more than happy to split it with 5 people so we all pay $10 bux and i'll email you the information when i download it :)

lmk!

i'd love to cut out my $160 ever three months for propane for water and $75-120 a month for electricity :)

Google around and you can likely find it without paying the $100. Several times I've seen someone post a good "how to" on a discussion board or on their website, then some jerk rips it off and sells it. Could be the case here, I don't know.

Think about it Tiny. That guy is claiming to be able to get you off the grid, or nearly off-grid if you follow his methods and techniques. In order to achieve those objectives, you need to store the power generated. There is a reason why in reality it costs thousands to position yourself for off-grid living.

Be patient. Wait a couple of years. Companies like Nanosolar are doing interesting things.

You were gonna pay money for that? It looks and sounds like a second grader put it together. I've seen late night infomercials that sounded more believable...

I'm starting to understand how America is in such a huge financial mess.

If you're just talking about solar water heating, though, as in the original post, I think you can find some inexpensive project plans.
