custom exhuast inquiry

been reading around and i think im gonna do a custom exhaust. Should i do full exhaust or just muffler? i have a fart can now, im thinking chop it off and go a bit more quiet with magnaflow (it seems to be quiestest after reading). im also thinking about going with a centered exhaust with one muffler that has two pipes, like a mini coop. i've seen it done on here before but cant find pics. if anyone wants to post pics or ideas, feel free.

Thanks

Anything is better than the stock slim. Well.. I take that back, a fart can is actually worse than stock. But yes a center exit gets looks, compliments, and is even quiet if tacked onto the stock muffler.

personally unless you have the body panel to accentuate the center exhaust I don't think that it looks right, but that is just my opinion. As for a Magnaflow muffler I am very happy with the one that I just recently installed with my turbo build....it would be a good choice.

how would you describe its sound? i know that yours being turbo will be a bit different, but it's not over the top right?

Here's mine. Oh, and go with a full catback without a resonator (I regret keeping mine).

I got the Magnaflow from that shop. I had to buy the tip in addition to it.

Here are more pics:

It's too quiet for me, and I like the exhaust gurgle on deceleration (which I don't have since I kept my resonator). lol. But if you really want quiet, then keep the resonator.

I've been combing the web trying to find a rear skirt or a diffuser to accentuate my setup, but no luck. Still, it isn't bad at all. It's centered, it's flush with the bumper, it's solid with no shaking or rattles, and every so often I hear, "Damn, check out that srt-8 exhaust.." While I'm pumping gas or getting an oil change.

PLEASE get rid of the fart can lol. I don't know why people even bother with them; a catback exhaust is basically the same price and sounds better (and less obnoxious).

I also have a magnaflow and it sounds great. At low revs it's got a great low and deep sound, and when you get on the throttle it's even better. Highly recommended, but flowmaster is a great brand as well.

i have the trd axleback and it seems to have a similar sound to the magnaflow ill get a vid up by tom hopefully so you can hear it im sure theres other vids of it though haha its almost like stock when at idle and when you give it gas you can deff hear it and at normal crusing speed (40-50 mph) theres not to much cabin noise and you can still hear music at a reasonable volume

Oh, and if you do decide to go with a catback or resonator-back, go with 2" piping, not like my 2.25" piping. I'm losing too much backpressure, so I lost some low end torque (where I drive most of the time). 2" would be the best balance between low and high end gains.
