adjusting headlights - Toyota Yaris Forums

i put some HIDs in my girls sedan. i can not, for the life of me, figure out how to adjust the height of the light output. any help would be rellllly appreciated. there has to be a screw somewhere......

I haven't tried it, but check out the service manual for lighting:

Look at page 89 of the pdf file. It shows some info on aiming the
headlights for the sedan.

On the HB theres are phillips slot on the back of the headlights you turn them left or right to lower or raise

i wonder if it is the same for the sedan?????? i have not seen her for a while so i can not like go right outside to look. :(

bump. . . the headlight design has changed for the 2009/10, and there are now two adjusters, one readily accessible and exposed towards, very close to the grill, and another buried behind everything underneath the headlight, on the the side opposite of the grill. It's would be impossible to reach the other adjustment screw, requiring removal of the headlight, which would make aiming all but impossible.

Hopefully someone else has done this and give pointers. I'm really hoping it's not the buried adjuster!!!

And yes I have full glare shields. But out here "legal" and "glare" are a small concern.

This part adjust the height turn it to the left or right to adjust Up and Down.
That's how I did it with my Sedan with HID'S.

I will try this tonight on my 2010 Yaris (hatch) and will report back, so we'll have a record for the future.

Yes, it is different on the hatch, which is why I have to test it out. What's worse is that the 09/10 headlights have a newer design which is also different from the rest of the hatches. Didn't get a chance to adjust them yet. . . will hopefully get a chance tomorrow.

I notice from camell's pics that...the 2008 Corolla models have the same nut of adjusting the height of the lights.

Yes, the liftback is different in adjusting.

djct Watt - the screws can be see when having the hood open. White plastic screw on each side near the top corner, nearest to the front bumper~
